Response to the Learning Question: Nov. 4, 2010

Yuritzi,
Amir getting married shocked me b/c I don't really think he was worthy to such as a big commitment. He wasn't that nice at the beginning of the book, I thought he would betray his wife. She's such a nice person that if Amir would do something to hurt her I wouldn't even read the book.
I would describe the universal theme b/c life hurts for Amir. Mostly b/c his father didn't really pay attention to him until he won a kite tournament. He also had to leave his home country to a new country that was totally and completly foreign to him.

  1. Esme,

I like how passionate you are about what you read. I can't help but wonder what your response would have looked like if you had provided evidence to support your thinking...

Grade: 6 PP You showed a sufficient amount of understanding of the assignment and expectations and were aware of the choices that you made in your work. The assignment reflected imagination and worldly awareness as well as some literary terms and features with intention and understanding.
