I am reading Generation Dead by Daniel Waters.
So far in my book there has been 3 main characters introduced: Phoebe , Tommy Williams, and Adam Layman. There is also a side character: Margi, Collette, some of Phoebes best friend. Phoebe was kind of the goth girl at the school, example pg 30 "The dress went down to her ankles, but somehow accented her gentle curves despite all the fabric. She had om her calf-high boots and a light gray vest, and her jewelery was all silver or silver colored. He thought she looked like a gothic cowgirl." . Adam is the star of the football team, also Phoebes best friend. He is tall and buff: example pg 11 "...but he was different now, in a way he walked, in the way he talked, in the way his face slimmed down to reveal a strong, angular jawline. His upper half, always big, had broaden out into a wide V from his narrow waist..." Tommy was really different from some kids but he's not the only one, he's a "living impaired" or zombie. He's kind and smart, example pg 5 " Tommy motioned for her to precede him into the room....She smiled at him. It was a reflex; courtesy...Tommy was trying to smile back at her." pg 7 " She called on Tommy for the answer to the problem...Tommy looked up from his papers...'174' Tommy said...'That's correct Thomas'." Tommy is like most people I know around school and the community; he is smart but people might not see that in them and they treat them like they don't know anything. When I was reading this part I thought that someone was going to treat him like he was dumb like saying that he didn't know anything or call him stupid because unfortunately there are people like that.
