ESMY'S BOOK BLOG: Dec. 3 Week 4

Week 4 11.29.10 - 12.3.10
This is due Friday by midnight on Blogger or by hand on Friday at the end of class.

We've been looking and studying how we relate to our characters and the real world around us. Now it's time to put yourself into your character's shoes. Thinking about the main character of your book, consider what you would do in their situation. 1. What would your reactions be? 2. How would you handle the situation? 3. What would you do differently? Be sure to use complete sentences and EVIDENCE to support your thinking. Remember, if you need help, stay after on Tues. & Thurs. to get help.

I am reading Generation Dead by Daniel Waters.

My main character is Phoebe. There are many reactions that I would have if I were in her shoes.
When Tommy goes into the woods, and Phoebe follows him I thought it was just a little crazy. And when Tommy put his hand on Phoebes' shoulder i would have completely screamed my head out because your out in the woods, possibly no one there and for someone to put their hand on you is frightening.
I would have stopped, turned completely back and see who it is before I elbow them in the stomach.
I would have not gone into the Oxoboxo woods. I would have minded my own business. But now as I think about it I would have gone in but I would have only peeked to see what was happening.

  1. Esme,
First, this was really hard to read. Second, what happened to the evidence to support your thinking?

Grade: 6PP You showed a sufficient amount of understanding of the assignment and expectations and were aware of the choices that you made in your work. The assignment reflected imagination and worldly awareness as well as some literary terms and features with intention and understanding.
